KIZIK HANDS-FREE SHOES ARE NOW
HSA + FSA ELIGIBLE!
To make life easier for all, we’ve partnered with Flex to enable qualified customers to check out with their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
Checking out with Flex is as easy as 1-2-3
1. Checkout
Check out as a guest. Exit the “Shop Pay” pop-up if prompted. (Payment methods such as Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo cannot process FSA/HSA payments.)
2. Complete Health Assessment
Take a quick, private health survey. A licensed provider will review your answers to determine eligibility.
3. Make Your Purchase
If eligible, pay with your HSA/FSA card or a credit card. If you use a regular credit card, follow the guide included with your LMN to submit your purchase for reimbursement.

Frequently asked questions
HSA/FSA accounts were created so individuals could use pre-tax money to pay for expenses used to treat, mitigate, or prevent a diagnosed medical condition. Because HSA/FSAs use pre-tax money, you’re getting more purchasing power for your dollars. Rather than pay taxes on income and then spend it on health items, qualified customers can use pre-tax funds to invest in their health.
Typically, an individual can contribute up to $4,150 pretax to their HSA per year, or $8,300 for a family (plus an additional $1,000 if you are at least 55 years old). Individuals can contribute up to $3,200 pretax to their FSA per year (with an additional $500 in employer contributions allowed). Confirm the exact amounts with your employer or plan.
Health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA) are programs that allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses. If you’re unsure whether or not you have an HSA or FSA account, please check with your employer or insurance company.
Kizik partnered with Flex to allow you to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). This means that, if you qualify, you can now use your HSA or FSA debit card to buy any Kizik.com hands-free footwear style for one-time purchases with pre-tax dollars. Hands-free shoes can make a big difference for people with a wide range of health conditions that limit mobility, flexibility, strength, or balance. To determine if you are eligible to use your HSA or FSA, take a quick, private health survey during the Flex payment checkout process. Flex will connect you to a licensed provider who will review your answers to determine eligibility.
Yes! On the receipt for your purchase or next subscription shipment there will be a reimbursement link that will prompt you with the steps to get a Letter of Medical Necessity for reimbursement.
In order to get reimbursed follow the below steps:
- Understand your LMN
- Identify your HSA/FSA Administrator
- Log into your HSA/FSA Administrator’s Online Portal
- Locate the ‘Reimbursement’ or ‘Claims’ section
- Submit your LMN and Receipt
- Await Confirmation
- Repeat for future receipts
The items in your Flex Letter of Medical Necessity (“LMN”) are now qualified medical expenses in the same way a visit to the doctor’s office or pharmaceutical product is. Your Flex LMN satisfies all IRS requirements to make your hands-free footwear purchase fully reimbursable.
Generally, it takes 24-48 hours. In some cases, Flex’s provider team will require additional time to issue a letter of medical necessity based on the needs associated with an individual qualification survey. If you aren’t seeing your letter in your inbox, check spam for an email from notifications@withflex.com, then reach out to us at support@withflex.com for help.
With Flex, FSA/HSA cards can be used for express checkout, but only through Flex designated regular one-time purchase payment method at checkout. If you select Flex as your payment option, you can use your FSA or HSA card like a regular credit card.
The key here is to make sure you are logged out of ShopPay. One of the easiest ways to do this is to go through checkout in an incognito window.
HSA/FSA cards are debit cards, and the most common reason for declines is insufficient funds. Reach out to your HSA/FSA administrator to confirm your balance.
Please check your spam folder, as sometimes emails from notifications@withflex.com may be automatically filtered as spam by some email service providers. If you still can’t find it, please email support@withflex.com and let them know the email address associated with your order.
No, unfortunately, this isn’t a supported feature right now. If there are insufficient funds in a single HSA or FSA account, you can instead enter a credit card on the Flex checkout page. You will receive an itemized receipt and/or Letter of Medical Necessity from Flex, which you can submit for reimbursement.
Sales tax for eligible items is also covered by HSA/FSA funds. If the customer has a split cart, the tax will be divided among the cards based on the items.
We strongly recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider to see if a purchase is eligible prior to completing the purchase. However, if you believe your claim has been wrongly denied, please send over any response from your HSA/FSA provider to us so we can share it with Flex and receive guidance on the next best steps to take. Please note that employer-sponsored FSAs can determine what products are eligible beyond the IRS’s guidelines, so it’s extremely important to check prior to purchase.
