Women's Athens 2 Knit

I received these as a gift from one of the owners of the company and they will be my staple casual shoe for quick errands and house chores. There are 50/50 pros n cons here, though. I love the grip! Fantastic hold on the ground and when driving (instead of sliding my foot off the brake to hit acceleration, I had to lift up then over cuz my foot wouldn't budge), but I cannot stand in these for long. Not enough cushion for a woman like me who was a cook forever and am facing the consequences of long-term standing in my youth. I'm 40 and my spine is paying the price, so I need great cushion for walking and standing. These fall very short. Within the 20min of standing, my toes are getting cold and tingly, and the rest of my feet are feeling odd. If these were orthotics, or had orthotics in them, I might be able to handle it longer, but not by much. The shoe itself angles down to help with the hands-free design. It pushes my toes down to the front of my shoe which may be part of the problem. It has great support in the heel! They are sturdy but light-weight shoes and I love the minimalist style (He got me the black with white and gum sole.). I doubt I could walk far in these so I won't be taking them to Vegas or any other travel trips, but a good "slipper" that looks like you had to tie your shoes and be presentable in public (ssh...I won't tell). If you don't have problems like I do with these shoes, I recommend them! But I have serious needs that a minimalist shoe cannot provide…
